A little story..with pics to go along :p

I was just sitting around and i realized that i needed a hide for a leopard cage. Then i realized that i didnt have a humid hide for them. So i was off into my house looking for the perfect box :) Then i found it, a mini trunk kinda box. That missing piece is what i cut out as an entrance for the leopard geckos. I took i saw to it. If you dont have one, buy it from a place like michaels..it was 5 bucks. And they had diff sizes..so for diff sized animals you have.

So i thought of placing a piece of paper towl on top but it wouldnt stay so i needed to be creative...i got out a hanger and cut two pieces that would stretch accros to support the towl paper.

the 2 pieces of hanger were measured to fit exactly to the point where you could slide it in, but it wouldnt move to much at all. Then i slid a piece of paper towl underneath them. note**leave a gap from the metel pieces to the roof for the paper towl to fit

and that was my ingenious, improv, of a plan :p :D
Then when you close down the lid..the paper towl will make the box humid and the paper towl is supported by itself

thanks for lookin!
This product is patend :p

Neat innovation, but I would worry about the wooden box beginning to rot under the constant exposure to moisture...

Me too... but get some epoxy, or even melamine paint, and problem solved. It's just holding humidity, not standing water, so melamine paint should be fine... but of course epoxy or marine enamel would be better.

Great idea though, Bartman! I'm always on the lookout for things I can use for hides. And I have a Michaels right near me, so I should check it out.

reptile boi: This is for a MOIST hide. so the paper towel is wet... therefore keeping the humidity up in the hide.

Great idea! One problem though... the hangers might start to rust since they will be touching moist papertowels... you don't want rusty metal iny our leos cage!

Otherwise it's a great idea!!

That wont happen because they are coated with that white paint stuff...i also rapped them in a thin layer of surran rap because i didnt want the metal to get to cold for the leo's

my leopard loves this hide..its her new fav. hide of the three she has :)

Awesome! If you get some paint, You can paint the wires too. This way, they'll be less likely to come out as well! Great idea!

OH BOY!! thats how it all starts... an engineer is born!
Congrats and welcome to the realm of the herp accessory builder. It's fun to build stuff for your herps
Just put a coat of varathane on it. Clear or colored, comes in both. That will water proof it, and prevent mould and rot. Varathane is safe and it also comes in small cans
One Question
What's your sister going to keep her jewelery in now?lol(just joking)
