Well ok, not really a normal, but not a genetic morph either. Here's a banded Miami baby. Figured it'll be a while before taking pics of the other normals so I'd better post em as I go along. :D Whaddya think Mark? Probably not even close to my REAL Miami eh? ;)

Hey Simon, whaddya think about her banding? Didn't really wanna call her a banded as her parents aren't. She was the only one amongst about a hundred babies which was banded. Would you call her a banded? Considering you have some sweet bandeds yourself. :)

Vanan,

She does have a really nice pattern and could be classified in the banded section. But to be a true banded she will have to have a bit more 'wrapping around' for the blotches. This year I produced a few banded that was really really all the way around. It was kind of like those milk snakes. But I didn't have room for that project so I had to sell all of the hatchlings~ and they went great. A lot of people wanted them and got them as soon as they were ready for sale. So I am hoping for next year to come when I produce more of those. Too bad that I didn't get any photos of the bannds~
but yours is nice too. It would be great if you can produce some bannded miamis down the road~
keep it up and maybe we can do some trades later on....(ah....even better...since you have a great looking miami....selectively breed it so that you get banded candy canes...at least that is what I am trying to do too~ so maybe we can either race for this goal or work together to produce these 'banded candy canes')

Banded candy canes eh? Neat!

Yea, it's all a step towards something. Most of the stuff I get are more of -ish and -type stuff. I'd like to selectively breed towards a certain look regardless if it's already been done or not. Then again, it saves a heck alot of time if you get a jumpstart buying a true banded pair! lol!

I remembered your banded (milksnake phase) ones. Definitely cool!

I vote for work together to produce 'banded candy canes'. Dun like competing in a hobby. :D

Oh yeah~
the project definately seems a nice thing to work with. And yes...getting a true banded pair would be a good start but then if I can get a true banded pair that are het amels that would even be a better jumpstart...lol.....the pair that I have are nore ot shouldn't be het for anything...as I have produced a few from that pair this year and got nothing but normal banded babies...so unless my luck likes to play with me (which is very possible....) I don't think that they're actually het for anything~~

yeah I would definately want to work with you than to compete with you....heck...I hate competition....but this is one thing that drives us human to produce better quality products.

Talking about working together....I was already thinking...once I get my mating pairs paired up for next year I should post a list of what is going to happen and what normal hets are going to be produced out. Then we can all do a little trade....just to get better bloods and some interesting projects going on around Canada. I don't see too much special morph corn trades in Canada...I only see if in the US.....we should do something like that so that we will be able to produce our Canadian corn morph of whatever.....

Yea man! What better morph to be produced in Canada than a Red and white snake! lol

Nice little one - will be great to see photos of her as she matures. Great idea to encourage breeders across Canada to cooperate in trades of offspring. Could spread some genetics around and help with diversity.

Mary,
This is exactly what I mean. We need more diversity and trading with other corn snake breeders will definately help with that. I just don't see that much happening around....they just sell it out...I would like to trade a few interesting stuff with another breeder...next year I am definately going to be trading with a few US breeders and I am definately going to get my hands on one of those normal het transparent hypo lavender motley (geeze...even the name is long and hard....) So taht would be something that I would like to trade and that is how we can get diversity~

Simon, get on that

Invictus,

ha!
you know what? I am actually getting into that! But even better...this year I am pairing my lav x pewter together. Unless there are other genes in this pair I would be getting normal het lavender bloodred charcoal. Imagine what I can get with a pairing like those!! Pewters, bloodreds, lavenders, lavender bloodred, pewter lavender (whatever this is called), lavender charcoal (whatever this is called....but if I remember correctly...the lavender masks charcoal....whocares...it's still something nice)

So for sure I am going to get some
normal het bloodred, charcoal, lavender
if my pair does it right.....hahahahah

I've seen pics of them before. Was surprised that they were already being produced. But then again, us Canadians are pretty behind on the morph "race".
