i'm having a hard time figuring out how to take clear macros with this camera....most of the pics i've taken are indoors in low lighting and they come out orangey and often times blurry. I use the SCENE mode and use close ups in the menu. The pics come out either washed out by the flash or blurry and orange. They also look clearer in the monitor of the camera than on the computer. If you have figured this cam out, please give me some tips!! I am getting frustrated!!:medyell: :medgrimac

I don't know about your camera but here are some tips that might help.

Get some other lights. The flash was not really made for macro so get a lamp or two for lighting.

Hold the camera steady, especially in low light. If you have a remote or a timer...fire the camera without touching it. A tripod or other support will help a lot.

I don't think that "scene" mode is right for indoor lighting. The pictures are probably orange because the white balance is off...or is set for sunlight. Try different settings or manually set it if your camera has that option. It may be the low light levels as well.

Hey Yve! I'm sure my 885 is pretty similar as I had the same problems when I first got it. Try reducing the exposure to about -1.0, set your macro on and use a flash. Depending on how close you are, reduce your exposure. All this is done in the CSM (or custom) mode. If you don't want to use flash, then flollow Mike's advice and use a lamp or two to get enough light. Your get better detail when there's more light reflecting off the subject. Simple way of making sure you don't get blurry shots. Oh, and get a tripod. You'll never regret it.
