I've been looking at several turtle/tortoise adoption sites lately and am wondering if adopting a turtle or tortoise is a good idea
are there any bad cons to adoption and also can you refer me to any credible rescuers in the US?
TIA

Adopting is an AWSOME idea!! Why buy an animal from a pet store when there are the same animal htat already needs a home. Reptile rescues usually run on very low funds. Not alot of money in caring for a load of herps in your spare time. Adopting an animal from them helps save money and free up room for more herps that need rescuing. This helps keep the rescue afloat. Plus most people willling to dedicate their time to a reptile rescue are knowledgable and honest people. And most adoptions are in good health when they leave. Don't know of any good ones in US, I'll look around and post some links.
Cheers,
Garrett
