With the many branches so to speak in herpetoculture, what is your main focus/interest? A brief explanation on why you find yourself motivated in a certain direction would be great.

You should have allowed multiple selection, because i myself am interested in all of those. If I had to pick one, I can't. My top three would be Breeding/Propagation, Conservation/Environmental and Field Herping and Study. But honestly, I dip into every single one of those.

I should have allowed OTHER to be listed as multiple. Most folks I know do dip into each of these at one time or another, yet I was aiming at your main interest. Above anything else, I enjoy field study as my main focus. I do collect and do a bit of breeding myself also, yet something about seeing animals in their natural surroundings and daily struggles to survive. Keeping herps is interesting and all, yet to darn cool to see how they live out their time naturally. :D

I have an interest in just about everything listed. Right now it's mainly just collecting. But I have started pairing things up with the hopes of breeding in the next few years. I'm also really interested in field study as well. Between where I live and where I work there is a never ending supply of reptiles.

I would say foremost that I collect. I have some interest all of the above though.

i like the feild herping more than anything in the world. my second is the conservation of animals. thats always fun. and than i like the collection and breeding. i personally enjoy it all. its getting harder and harder to get feild herping in, with all the animals i have now.

I love to go out and watch them in their natural habitats, so I voted for field herping. But breeding is a close second. There's no better feeling than taking care of an animal so well that it is able to reproduce and have healthy offspring. And you also get to see what neat colour and pattern variations a new season brings!
But honestly, it's all good. I love the conservation part too, and just the simple keeping. I really love studying them and getting as much information as possible. Selling some offspring for a bit of money is just a bonus. I love this hobby!

It's a both of both a hobby and a breeding project for me. I choose breeding, because inevitably, Invictus and I will be focusing on that too. It's very much a hobby for me too though, I love them all very much, and I want tons more. :)

I chose other because I fit in to several of the above listed. My current interests are mainly focused on collecting and breeding as a hobby.

Although i have intrests in all I'm mainly a hobbiest/collector. I don't expect to break even for the money we've spent, nor do i expect it to be my day job (it would be nice).

I voted simple hobby because everything you stated is involved in that area... Or at least for me it does.

I vote for hobby, since that is why I first started, and still continues to be my main interest. However, breeding and conservation are also interests of mine.
