View Full Version : Question about Cha Cha the sick boa
Hey yal. I was just wondering, how long will it take for Cha Cha to rid of her Respritory infection? She got 2 shots on Monday, and she gets 1 or 2 shots tomorrow. And I think she gets yet 1 or 2 more shots on this coming monday too. Hope that helps, i was just curious, thats all, just as long as my baby is happy, and healthy!! Well, G2G, also a question for all the Michiganders out there, are there any Light fictures that I can use for a snakes cage at Menards? The vet i went to said the there were!! ok, bye!!
R.I.'s take a little while to clear up, you can expect it to be lingering for at least 1-2 months, depending on severity as well. Treatment should continue til after all the symptoms have diminished and your snake appears to be healthy again, if you treat right when it stops or when it's almost better it can come back, and often with mroe intensity. Keep us posted :)

I agree if you stop meds too soon the infection can come back with immunity to the drug you are giving. Did the vet do a culture of the bacteria to see what was best to treat the infection. I had a stuborn infection this last winter with one of my boas. It was immunice to almost everything. It took 2 months of shots to make sure it was healed.
Good Luck,
Umm, no he didnt do a culture on the bacteria!?!?!?!?!? Is that ok, cause if it's not, then well , I'll have a lil talk with him! But, anyways, she is doing a lil better, she is a lot more energetic!!!!
She just had a shot today, just one. Also, i said that she got 2 shots on Monday, correction, she got 2 shots on Wednesday, i got it confused with me getting my stiches out on monday! LOL!!! Anyways, i will keep yal updated, i hope she can be a happy healthy snake once again!! Thanx you two! And a pre-thank you to anyone who posts after this message!! Bye!
Yes you should definitely bring that to your vets attention. A culture is very important so you can decide on a (effective) method of treatment. Otherwise your treatment could be simply ineffective (or worse yet your snakey could have a negative reaction - no worries of that now if he has already had the first shot without problem). Good luck with your lil guy :)
