View Full Version : Enclosures.
I don't have a digital camera yet so I'm going to have to describe my new corn enclosures. They are still babies so I'm starting them in a 12X18X10 Sterilite. I'm using newspaper substrate with a little bit of aspen for the quarantine(sp?) period. Small plant pot for warm side hide and a half a paper towel tube next to the water bowl on cool side for hide. I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do instead of tube for hide. Bowl is large enough to soak in. I've got the digital thermometer keeping constant temperature of hotspot. UTH is on homemade rheostat and temps are holding at 85-87. I am getting stick on hygrometers when I go get my babies. Both enclosures are exactly the same for them. I'll be going to get my Reverse Oketee pair Saturday. Thanks for reading!!! :w

Sounds like you have a perfect setup going. I wouldn't worry too much about the hygrometer though, as corns do not have any humidity requirements. Just mist them when they are in shed or put their water dish over the heat source, and they will be fine. But, a hygrometer couldn't hurt either of course. :)

Sounds good to me. Good to see a post with the word quarantine in it as well. :D
Thank you Invictus. I was not aware that I didn't have to monitor their humidity. That's great though. I'll save me at least $20. I can handle the misting so I think I'll try it without the hygrometers first. Thanks so much for your input.
Thanks for the words of encouragement C.m. I wish I had more snakes coming to me to quarantine. I just can't seem to get enough of them.
