King problem...:(

When I pick him up he's like a limp noodle, but he starts to tremble like he can't support the weight of his own body. So I have to support two parts of his body or it feels like his damn spine is going to snap. I don't know if this is normal...I've never encountered this before. I don't know if it's just old age (apparently he's like 13 years old), I honestly don't know. For now I'm just really careful how I pick him up, I don't want to pull anything.

Any ideas?

Edit: Also, he's ALWAYS done this in the three months I've had him. But he was at PCPC for a while, so I don't know if anything went on there.

*pouts* That's my problem, the closest herp vet is 3 hours away. I've contact every vet in this city about herp related issues and I always end up knowing more...

Seek a vet. But, im our experience, that sounds like a weak snake. Not sick weak but rather a snake with more fat than muscle. I've seen some breeder snakes never been exercised and just fed f/t, so no muscle action with constriction even. Sounds exatly like what you've got. Could also be due to his age. I really wouldn't really too much. Just feed him well and give him a chance to come out and exercise. BUT, since I can't see your snake in person, I still recommend a vet. Keep us posted.

And honestly, he IS quite fat lol So I have been exercising him, maybe he was overfed by his previous owner.

I'll have to agree with Vanans points as I've seen this same condition only in an older snake that was kept as a breeder since birth. Even with increased handling etc. the condition seemed to worsen with age. The muscles were never strong to begin with & weakened more with the aging process. Kind of sad actually. Mark
