Alrighty, this is starting to irk me. My kingsnake SMELLS lol Like his poop does, REALLY bad. My python's poop just doesn't smell, but this guy, you know if he has taken a dump as soon as you step into the room.

Is this normal?

Obviously I'm just going to clean it up, but it's still gross lol

Corns and Kings have poop that smells 100 x worse than any human baby could produce. It's just the way of things. :)

Boids rule compared to colubrids for smell DOH! The stinkest ones that I have are the Indigos, their pee justs reeks, way moreso than all the others. Well except for maybe the VBB's, but they almost always go in their water buckets for easy cleanup. When you dump that bucket though, OH BOY! I usually start the fans & the incense first because when the bottom of the bucket hits the toliet its the most nasty sight/smell ever DOH! The things we do for what we love. Mark

Hahah and the funny thing is, I'M A BOID LOVER! I just got him because I fell in love with him while I was handling him at PCPC...Sheesh, serves me right for having sentimental attachments lmao

Call me a colubrid lover, but I find colubrid poop nothing at all compared to the dumps our adult boids have taken. Not fun especially when you're dealing with a stinkin mountain of poop from an 8ft burm which you need to use a shovel for.

I did, on one occasion, find that most of our colubrid poop smelled rank. We traced it to our last batch of mice which seemed of poorer quality. Quick call to our supplier at that time and we started getting better looking mice.

If you want to go for extra rankness, feed chicks, they make for some nasty craps. Mark I.

i realy don't think the way mice look has anything to do with the quality(or rank..lol) of the snakes turds....lol IMO

No, that's not true. If the mouse looks bad (ie scrawny), and smells bad, it's probably bad quailty.

Rank mice mean rank poop for sure. The type/quality of the food has a major affect on how things smell in the end. I too have noticed that substandard prey means ranker poo. This is not opinion this is fact. Mark
