View Full Version : Orchid Bark
Is orchid bark a suitable substrate for corn snakes?? I wouldn't be feeding them on the bark of course but I was planning on getting some for my bp enclosure but I'll stay with the Cypress if I can't use it for my corns as well. Also, what size sterilite container would you recommend for a 6 month old corn?? Thanks for your information.

Sterilites are great corn holders, and orchid bark is a great substrate. I use model# 1856 for all my colubrids, even gophersnakes. I mostly use aspen, but recently found an even cheaper supply of orchid bark (fir bark usually) that I will switch to once they are out of brumation.
Yes, I use orchid bark for my corn and ball python. I really like it.

At its widest it is 16½" x 23" x 5½". The model is sold through Wal-mart, and being they all sell the same exact stuff it is easily found. "Don't forget the lid."
Thanks very much C.m.
