Well, I decided to take some reference pictures of two of my yearling hognose snakes (actually they are about 18 months now). They are 0.1.1 and I am quite certain that the 0.0.1 is a female (based on tail length, shape and overall body size).
Anyway, when I first acquired them approximately six months ago, the female measured 19.5" and now she measures 23.915" (a linear growth of 4.415" in 6 months). The other unknown measured 15.8" and now measures 20.685" (a linear growth of 4.885" in 6 months).
Kind of interesting I suppose, they seem to be right on track. I find it interesting that the total growth is so similar when the unknown doesn't eat as regularly (has declined meals before and is generally fed less prey items at a time) as the female and generally has a more slender frame.....
Interesting nonetheless. No real question to this post, just thought I would share.
I use Chuck's (of serpwidget fame) snake measuring program.
Cheers,
RMB

Interesting! Thanks for the info Ryan! Goes to show that just cos a snake refuses to eat, doesn't always mean it's starving itself. It just wants to maintain a good figure! :D
