Hi. I just wanted to introduce myself because I'm new to the group.

My name is Denise Ryder and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have been a breeder/keeper of reptiles for about 13 years and I am on the Adoption Network which is part of the Nova Scotia Herpetoculture Society. I currently have 3 Savannah Monitors, a Red-Eared Slider, an Iguana, a Chinese Water Dragon, 3 adult Tokay Geckoes and their babies, 2 Leopard Geckoes, 2 Black Rat Snakes (female is albino), a Western Hognose Snake, Indian Walking Sticks and A. Achatina and A. Marginata (2 species of Giant African Land Snails, or G.A.L.S.). My greatest passion is for my Savannah Monitor Lizards. I also enjoy doing a lot of teaching in schools and various organizations, as well as our local museum.

Just thought I might learn some new information and perhaps help out if there anyone has a problem which I've had previous experience with.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Your Grace,

Ooooh, Achatina!! Oooh, can you send me some? A fascinating species...and a favorite of V. albigularis too, the "other" savanna monitor. I did not Nova Scotia had a herp society, or even herps it is so cold up there...live near Cape Race? Seen any giant squids or giant turtles up there?

Good Luck with your collections,
