thank you guys for helping me out with my monitor. if it weren't for your help he would have probably been dead soon. took him to the vet today and the vet did a "fecal floatation" test to see if he had any parasites/worms, that stuff. it was just full of eggs, tousands of eggs, the vet was like omg you have to come see this, i'v never seen so many eggs in my life. i got to look in the microscope, there were so many eggs. he gave him a little bit of oral meds and in 2 weeks i have to give him a little more. i'm wishing i would have got him to a vet after i got him, had him for 5 months, i wonder how bad it may have gotten in that amount of time. but i have alot of hope that he will get through it. thanks for your help.

No worries, mate. Was it determined what type of parasite eggs they were? I'm assuming the medication is panacur or something similar?

dave- the vet did not determine what kind of parasite it was, i'll check to see what kind of meds it is later.

mark- he probably wasn't very happy plus he was literaly trying to eat the camera

Hey Lrptls!

Glad to hear you got it taken care of! Hope he gets well soon, how is he for taming? I got some advise if its abit agressive, cause we have a baby at the pet store im volunteering at and it was agressive at first. Anyways, whenever you give it a soak(in hot water ofcourse), put your hand under him to become his "little floating island"(the water should be deeper than he can stand in for this to work). Do not restrain him while doing this, let him walk through your hands. Eventually he will begin to trust you. When you go to pick it up, dont hesitate, just pick him up, if you show it your nevous, it will just keep at it. Good luck!

thanks for that chris. he is for the most part pretty calm. while in his cage he hides from be but most of the time he lets me pick him up. hes very wiggly but thas been going away. and he use to open his mouth ALOT. that going away too, he just opens his mouth when something gets near it and if you put somethig in it he will bite and NOT let go. im hopefull that if he survives the parasites he will turn out to be a good pet
