no nutrition in them? Pinkies should be a once a week "treat" Staple diet of pinkies wont do anything for your monitor but cause problems..

Your nile should be on a bigger staple diet of inverts. This will increase excercise and less fatty diets. a 'treat' once a week is no big deal, but remeber your lizard naturally would be eating a diet of inverts, with other supplemented foods such as eggs, birds, small mammals, etc....

Scrambled eggs and roaches are good treats too.

When mine was small I gave two pinkies a week. For the most part I gave a variety of crickets and superworms along with ground turkey and scrambled eggs. Also for a treat you can give some fresh water shrimp.

Our Nile (5.5 ft female)has recentle eaten:
Turkey,
Chicken livers
Hamhocks (ground up)
Rats
Marrow (from hamhocks)
Eggs
Hissing roaches
crickets
Mealworms

I think that has been the december menu.
They will eat a large variety of foods, you just want to make sure that your staple diet (IE Mice pinkies vs rats) are a healthy food and nutritional source.
thanks
