well last night i was lying in bed and i saw my bp, after like 3 months of owning him, has finially started to come out. He was roaming around all night..then IT happened..HE ESCAPED!!! but it was the funniest story ever..i woke up and looked straight ahead of me and on the other end of my room i saw something, my eyes were still very blurry haha, and it was my SNAKE! i freaked out ran and grabbed him...i still have no idea how he got out, at all, but thank god he didnt hide anywhere, if my mom saw that she would faint! she told me, and my dad, that if the snake got out your finished with reptilies, thank GOOOOOD they didnt see it..i love my reps to much, just thought id share haha

I have a story like that. I went out a couple weeks ago to do some ceramic tile work on a couple new houses and when I returned home I went to my room and took of my coat and glanced over at my cages. To my surprise my female ball was sitting on top of her cage just looking back at me. I was very releived that she had not taken off. I put her back in the cage and put a brick on the top of her cage so that she wouldn't be able to push the lid up. I am glad to say she hasen't got out again...yet!

lucky you I was sitting her at the computer on day, the cage is next to the computer, loading pics that I had just taken but was going to take her out and go get some food with her and looked over and she was one step ahead of me she was sitting on the corner of the tank looking at me like well are you going to come get me or am I going to have to come to you? It was funny I am glad I still had the camera here I took a few snapshots now just trying to figure out how to shrink their size so can post them.

use like photoshop or something of that kind. I tried paint but it doesnt really work and only cuts off the pic.

You would be surprised how a snake can compress itself and get in to the last place we think they could (and getting them out is a whole other story  ). All the bones in their head are loosely connected making the entire unit very flexible. I don't know what kind of setup it is so I can't say much other than excercise caution with tape. Do not use it if it will be on the part of the tank that the snake may be able to come in to contact with.

Be careful with your taping. A snake stuck in duct tape is a mess. You can pull off scales or otherwise damage the skin.
Sorry, someone beat me to the post. Sounds like you've got it covered. I've heard about people using tape to trap excaped snakes and then having to deal with the consequences of getting the tape off the snake.

no its not even duck tape its the paint tape so its very unsticky and the way i did it the only place the snake can touch the tape there is a piece of tape the opposite way, get what i mean? :) Thx for the thoughts though!

my snake escaped once and we found him right next to his cage in a shoe.
