hi everyone! well i have a Question on 3-toed box turtles. when keeping them outside is there any special care i need to take care of. does any one have any advice on keeping them outdoors.

I would make a pen and make ythe walls 8-10" into the ground and 12" high to prevent escapes. They can dig and also climb over if not high enough. The second thing I would do is build a cover out of chicken wire to prevent predation: birds, raccoons, cats and etc. The cover can me removable and lockable. I feel better this way. Make sure you have a lot of cover and hides as well.

Remove "divots" from around and under feces to prevent the overgrowth of bacteria or parasites in their substrate. Outdoor soil tends to have more organic material and less acid in it than the stuff we use indoors and so is a good incubating medium for pathogens.
