Alright, so I'm looking to get a few different colubrid species brought up from the states (a few kings, and a few rats) -- but I'm having a heck of a time finding anyone willing to ship up to Canada. I was hoping some of you might know someone who's willing to do international shipments... As a last resort I can probably get down to Seattle to pick up a shipment, but it would be a pain in the ***, and time consuming, to say the least.

If it helps at all, the first thing I'm looking for is some locale specific greybanded kings...

Thanks for any help you can give :)

Have you tried Mark (crimsonking)?

Yeah Tim, Mark was one of the first people I talked to :) I've spent so much time drooling over the pics of his animals that he's posted that I figured it was worth a shot! But no luck unfortunately...

Thanks though :)

<laugh> As far as I know Mark doesn't ship to Canada. We had to get his stock by shipping to Seattle and then driving the snakes through. That's honestly, the easiest way to do it.

Hi Katt,

How did you find that? Did you have any trouble at the border? What kind of fees etc were involved? Thanks :)

No trouble. We've done it several times. We just paid tax on them.

Jen, Americans with F&W import/export licenses will ship to Canada. It's not that bad with colubrids because no CITES is involved. If you have them flown in you will avoid all border problems. At the airport, its just GST and PST you'll have to pay on the declared value.

I used to breed lots of Greybands.. Canadians wouldn't buy them so I was forced to ship dozens of them to the USA...weird how things go. It was the same with Hondurans and pretty much all tricolors.
Its nice to see some Canadians are now interested in Mexicanas and triangulum

Thanks for the info Roy :) You don't happen to know of any that DO have those licences, do you? LOL... none of the ones that I've talked to do apparently... I'd really really rather have them flown in... a trip down to the border would be a pain, and expensive... I'm on an island, so I'd have to take the ferry down...

It's funny how these things go, eh? ;) I'm actually looking for some triangulums too... any suggestions? *grin*

Thanks again,
Jen

Hi Jen

I have collected a few links of people who say they ship internationally. I have never dealt with any of them and am not sure if they have what you are looking for. All these are in my international shippers folder but I haven't looked at them in a while and their terms may have changed. I believe most have a min. order of around $1000 US.

You could always try places like Glades or Ben Siegel (sp) and see if they can get what you are looking for. Don't forget to check the BOI if you decide to deal with any of them.

Jenn, what exactly are you looking for? Maybe someone in Canada has it. I've done the border crossing thing. It was pretty easy. A hassle, but easy. For you, being on the island, it might be more trouble than it was for me though.

Jen,

You could also try Brian at BHB Reptiles in Michigan. He is great to deal with and we had no problem dealing with him
drop him a line.

Thanks for the help guys :)

Sean, I checked out those links -- doesn't look like any of them will be of help right now, but I'll definitely keep them on file :)

Jim, I just fired off an email to Brian -- hopefully he can help me out! At least if he doesn't have what I'm looking for, maybe he can point me in the right direction....
