hey im thinking about getting some of this stuff and have a few questions. can you feed a crestie ONLY this? ive heard a few times that you can but would it still be good to add some other stuff? how long does a standard bottle last for? do you still have to add calcium powder?
it seems to me that if you can keep a crestie healthy on this only it would be much more logical then keeping insects in your house

Yes you can only feed cresties CGD and no you dont have to add any calcium, it has all the goodies in it already. As for the other questions, I cant recall the answers but run a search in this forum called crested gecko diet and im positive that the answers will be there. The only thing is that you need to get your crestie on the diet first :D

You can definitely do that, but you'll see that they don't eat as much. I've found that they grow much faster when given crickets, because the movement of live crickets really entices them to eat.
Then again, if you're just keeping it as a pet (non breeding), that shouldn't be an issue at all.

I have been trying the Crested gecko Diet...but it's hard definitely converting the adults over! I guess the idea is to start them whilst they are young. Really I think it's best to feed them as naturally as possible and that, of course, includes live crickets.
IMHO commercial diets should never replace a reptiles natural diet. I have yet to see one that was adequately formulated to sufficiently meet a reptiles needs. Often the ingredients are metabolized differently than what they would naturally consume, and although you may not see any problems in the short term, your reptile may not live to its maximum expectancy. You simply cannot replace their natural diet. Convenience is rarely as good as the real thing, and it never is in the world of reptile diets.
Commercial foods were actually discussed recently in the GD...
