I was at the store where I get all my herps (A small family owned shop, really good place) and they have had a Crestie there for months. The guy told me he will bring the price down for me (because we are regulars) but I was wonderin what kind it might be.
When I first went there, it was kinda khaki green and the tail had a green and beige pattern on it. But yesterday I went back, and looked at him, and he seems to be getting Orangey-Red...
What is this? Is it likely to keep getting darker and losing the green altogether? And lastley, how do you sex a crestie?
Any help would be really appreciated... I am new to this species, and am curious about these things! :)
Thanx!!

get one from a breeder, even if you know the petstore it's not worth it. a breeder you could get a really nice one from 90-130, the one in your petstore is probably a ''normal'' but what's the price?

I would probably pay like 80-90.

and there are no breeders around, and I don't want to have it shipped, so, this is my only alternative. no on I 've seen in classifieds etc.. in Montreal area who has any for sale.

No I want toknow
1) how do you sex a crestie?
2) as per my above comments on color, how will it work? can it get more orangey red from akhaki green? do they constantly change color? etc etc.
3) how does the feeding work, how often do they eat and how many at a time?

You cant sex a crestie until roughy 4-6 months even then you might still have a male that appears to be a female but grows the buldge in one night. At least 11 months would be a safe bet. Some cresties change colours over time, some become brighter while others become dull. Feeding a baby is everyday and decreases as it gets older. Look on the internet for some caresheets, they should answer most of your questions surrounding feeding.
Good Luck
