Nice garter snakes. That first one is very pretty, and the wanderer is much different than what I am used to seeing.

Is the northern pine male or female?

We have 1.2 cooling - but a friend may be aquiring a male to go with our second female which he also may be getting. Ours are very tame - I think you saw Timber when you were here, he is very close to 7'.

I got one of Jonathans Wandering Garters too. I love the subtle colours and the charcoal grey bellies on them. Eats like a pig too, but it's hard to believe they're 18 months old.

i love it man. so awsome. i love when they hiss. that kinda threw me off once when i was looking for bullsnakes and i grabbed one and it sounded so much like a rattle snake. and i was in rattle snake country. hehe. great experience.

those snakes are great. has the pine tagged you yet? or does he just put on that show? also do you know anyone in bc who breeds any species of garters. ive always wanted a garter or two or three for my collection. after all, they are the reptile that sparked my interrest in the hobby when i was just a young'n.

go to the SCALES sping count. i will most likely bring a whole bunch of garters with now. lol. and the pine snake does strike, BUT, it hasn't got me. i find "pits" strike so slow. quite easy to dodge them.

i doubt ill be able to make it to the spring count as i am in BC and im pretty sure it takes place in ontario. the more i see the pic of that pine the more i want to get one. snakes with attitude rule.

ohhhh k. either way i wont be able to make it. thats a bit far from BC. what exactly is it? just field herping and recording statistics or something? cuz id actually be quite interrested in that, but theres no way id be able to get out that way this year. do you know of anything like that in BC?

Hey, the wanderer looks exactly like my baby, Kobe. They've got great temperment. :) He's my favorite in terms of handling. Just sits on my hands and checks everything out. Very nice snakes you got!

Heh. Well, I'll just beam like a proud parent. Glad you're happy with them, Jordan -- I don't think you'll have any trouble feeding them ...
