The female shed today, they have been together for a few days now.
I don't think she finished crawling out of her old skin before he was doing what he was supposed to be.
Snapped a few quick pictures.

Hey Ryan,
Nice pic's. What was your '02 clutch size last year? I picked up a male sibling of your female from a guy here in Toronto (may even have been a clutchmate... was your born in 1999/2000?). Fantastic snake. He's just over 6 1/2 feet and very calm. I'm feeding him more than his previous owner (he was onlt getting 1 med. rat every 2 weeks) so I think he'll put on some more size yet. I'll be breeding him to the female I got from you last summer (next year, not this year) and I have high expectations that she'll throw some fantastic babies. By the way, she's right around 4 1/2 feet and about 500 grams now. Have you heard back from any of the others that you sold babies to? ...just interested in their growth rates.
Cheers,
Francis
Nice looking pair~
hope they'll be poping some eggs out for you soon~

Very nice Ryan and Sheila,
Perhaps I may drive out to Leader in the near future and purchase one of what promises to be some beautiful offspring.

Francis.
Very cool aquisition. Our adults are from a '99 hatching. I'd love to see pics of your new snake.
We had 13 babies from 13 eggs. All of the eggs hatched within 2 days and the babies were ravenous right off the bat.
We keep in touch with many of the people who got our babies, and I do beleive yours is the biggest. Many are getting to the 4' mark, but I don't think any are near 500 grams.
These snakes can eat, and eat more - then grow, then eat, then grow - it is really amazing. Our adult female was eating 2 400 gram rats, or 3 300 gram rats right after breeding, and then again after egg laying. We suspected she might double clutch on her own because of the speed that she got back into condition again.

Ryan, you should definitely drive out to Leader - we would love to have you. Wait until all of the herps are out and about, early May is usually a good time.
If you drive out here, I will give you a great deal on any baby we might have at that point. We are trying a few other pre-xmas breedings. Watching the barometer......

Do you still have Russian rats, and if so, are you going to breed them this year? And as a side note, do you have any pictures of them to post?
Thanks,
Francis

Ryan,
I am desperately in need of a new herping expedition, and the furthest west I have ever been is Winnipeg. Driving out to Leader in May.....that sounds about right!
Again, those Taiwan Beauties look great, very healthy!
I'll keep in touch,
Ryan
Janiman, I have the russian rats, and yes I plan to breed them. I have them cooling right now, (they've been cooled since October) and probably won't be taking them out til Feb-March. I have some pics in my gallery.

Ryan and Sheila, remember that you promised me first crack at jewel's babies at the Fall show. :) I can't wait. I might get a couple of pair from ya. :)
