Hi Folks,

I don't know if this has ever been posted here, but I was checking out this gentleman's site and found this very clever and interesting rack construction system.

Check out this link (I hope it works)...

Take care!

I've seen that rack before, seems like a lot of wasted space w/ the hollow doors and all. It's different, but could end up costing plenty more than it needs to.

I have to agree. Seems like wasted space. Plus I think you could build a good sturdy rack out of melamine, or ply wood, if you put support in, and use wheels then it should be fine. Wasted space, I could use those extra inches for a bigger rubbermaid for the snakes.

Melamine's pretty heavy and it chips, even if you protect the edges. It's also rough on equipment.
Good quality plywood is expensive.

I think the point here is the relative ease of construction and the strength factor. You couldn't run an unsupported melamine shelf of the same length as you can with this system - it'd have to be six inches thick, lol!

As to space, I guess it depends on how much you have to work with...

Cheers!

Simon, what do you mean by rough on equipment? Also, seems like you've already made up your mind, why bother asking?
