this gurl cam out of a clutch of 17 babies with 14 slugs. My friends female and my male. There were two like this and the other died shortly after. The one that past had a full stripe running down its side. I have never seen anything like it. Not sure if it was genetic or not we will see with time. Just thought id share and see if other breeders have hadsome wierd looking babies come out. take care Nick

i would be really interested to know more....what temp was the encloser the mother was in during gestation...sounds like something bad happened here. what ever caused such a devistating result to the clutch is most likely to be responsible for for the pattern.....i can't say for sure but more info on the parents..mating..condition of the animals during entire procedure..and condition of the environment would be of interest

upscale why must something have happened during gestation or breeding to have that happen ?
slugs happen and so do abnormal appearances occasionally

if i took it the wrong way then im sorry but it sounds to me that your saying that they did something wrong, how many times have we heard of people having slugs in there litters or all slugs does it mean that the breeder did something wrong ??

its a very nice circle back good luck with her in future

Neat head markings :)

It's not uncommon for underdeveloped or stillborn babies to have abberant pattern and/or colouration in litters, not 100% certain why this is. I agree with Upscale Boas has said, often changes in the environment during gestation are said to produce abberant patterns.

He did not do everything that he should have. IT was not me breeding. My columbian last year dropped 22 with no slugs and I did it by the books temp, feeding. He didnt feed her for a while after she was gravid and Im sure his temps were off to. He thinks it might be some new morph (LOL). But he is in his own world thats why I dont deal with him any more. So I agree with upscale and Linds on this. The snake was not kept in the correct conditions. Well thats that. take care Nick
