Well I think 13 might be too young to get a job but try to learn as much as you can about different herps, so when you turn 16 you can get a job at a pet store. Hope this helps.

hmmmm. I'm Canadian and don't know much about TX. sorry.
All I can think of is research what interests you online if you can't find a society to join. Wish I could help more.

well I have been volunteering at vets, petstores, societies, shelters, etc since I was about 12. I have 2 jobs promised to me by 2 vet clinics right now and I'm 15, and I still don't have a job. Just wait, you'll get one sooner or later, but volunteering is your best bet for now.
If I'm not mistaken, at your age, you can't be legally hired anywhere.

I'm asking because you've already been banned from here like twice. In the future, maybe you could put a more descriptive post title.
i think u can get away with getting hired at age if u get a form for them to sign giving u service learning hours for highschool or middle school but most small businesses dont care cause they dont get caught. i worked concessions since i was like 11 or 12 w/o getting caught

I'd recommend volunteer work at you local zoo. Most zoos have some of a volunteer program, including a youth volunteer program. Volunteer work looks great on a resume and you'll get a lot of experience.
I agree with everyone else, inquiring about volunteer positions is the best bet. At my old job we had a few kids your age and younger as volunteers. They helped out with the shows, and with cleaning and caring for the animals as well :) You cannot be legally hired, but you may get a few freebies in exchange for your work ;)
haha what was he banned for? he doesnt seem like an a hole. but yeah look for volunteer work anywhere that deals with reptiles. its good experience i did it when i was about your age at a pet store.
