If my memory serves correctly, from my philosophy lessons, Porphyre is a neoplatonic philosopher (also known as Porphyry in English).

correct. but the word also means several other things. i'm just trying to get 6 pages to turn in tomorrow. :w
Well at dictionary.com it says it's a noun and then lists porphyry.
when i looked up porphyry it basicly said it was a rock with crystals. nothing about snakes.
