View Full Version : Would this cause regurging?

Hey folks.....I've looked and looked to try to find out why Kaspar regurged his last meal. I did everything right, and he's healthy...the only thing coming to mind is feeding schedule.

I believe before I got him, he was fed every 10days (right Simon?).

I got him on the 23rd and fed him on the 24th with no probs. He ate, he pooped, etc. I am wanting to feed him a little more often to get some girth on him.

He poo'd twice before I fed him again on the 28th.

Would switching from 10days to 4day feeds cause him to regurge?

Should I start with say going from the 10days, down to ummm, 7 or so, then 5?

Thanks.

One easy way, is make sure you never feed them while they still have a bulge from the last meal... as constricting a new meal, upsets the stomach, and can result in a regurge.
Let baby corn snakes fully digest and poop before refeeding them.
The frequency of feeding should depend on the size of meal and the temperature of the enclosure.
Keeping snakes at higher temps will allow them to digest quicker.
Corns kept at 85F can usually handle twice a week feedings.
but don't exceed that as Temps too high can also cause regurging, as can lack of water , food that's too big, disturbing them while they're digesting, and very rarely bacterial infections

It's all about the correlation between metabolism and temperature. Higher the temps, the more food able to be digested. Heed ye ol' Unkie's advice! :D

Well I as actually feeding them around 7-10 days scheduel.
So may be try and slowly introduce a more frequent meal would be better.

Also since you only got it for just more than a week, stress is a critial matter in this case. It's still not too used to the environment that it's in yet. Everything is new and it's being loved a lot more than it was here in my place. So it's a bit of stress and not being to used to being fed too much at the same time~

so slowly introduce it to a more frequent meal. Plus what Roy and Vanan said are true~
