sure it wasnt your reflection?

Let's just say that I've seen enough in my lifetime that defies scientific explanation. I am convinced that there are things in this world that may never be explained.

My grandparents farmhouse is haunted by at least three ghosts, the family has been on the land since 1895. I've personally seen 2 of them while staying in the house, let's just say it's hard to sleep with someone standing in the corner of the room staring at you.

I'm with Invictus, i've experienced enough 'strange' stuff that can't be explained away that i'm in the believer category. I don't think i've ever actually "seen" a ghost, but i've been aware of presences that you not physically see on more than one occasion.

I agree with Invictus and Slannesh. Enough strange things have happened with my spirituality to make me a believer.

And I have once. I was driving in the fog, and there was a guy standing on the side of the road just staring at our car and when I looked back, he was gone. *shrugs*

here in ohio my dad owned a restaraunt on mainstreet here in franklin. well it was built in the 1800's and named after the man who built and owned it. his name was john kinney and he died in the basement of this restaurant.

one tim ei was in the kitchen waitin for my friend to get done with his job and i looked into the main dining area and a white figure of man was walking across the room kinda like the way the ghosts in house on haunted hill or 13 ghosts walk. turned on the lights and no one was there. freeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaakkkky

thats pretty freaky. i've never really seen nething out of the ordinary or out of the perameters of my schyzophrenia :D .. i did hear my mom say that some places have phosphorus trails (white vapors) from vehicles and around grave yards cause the dead emit a lot of phosphorus.

I lived in a house that had a presence. I felt it first when I rolled over in bed and was lying with my back against the wall. Then I felt something get into bed behind me. That was freaky. Didn't sleep that night at all. (I had no pets then.) Then a couple of months later I had a lady friend over and I was making her dinner and I had a candle sitting on top of my TV. She was watching television and the candle suddenly flew at her. She clung to me for the rest of the evening. So, have I seen a ghost? No, but have definitely experienced one.

I've lived at a graveyard my whole life(21 years) and haven't seen anything. My mom swears she has but my mom says a lot of things. I'm not saying I dont believe I just haven't seen anything.

i dont know if i am crazy, or if it was a cat making strange
sounds but when i was house sitting for a friend there was
a noise all night that sound like it was saying "come play"
in a young kids voice... and you hear something like a baby
crying every once in awhile... Also, we found a piece of steak
on the floor wrapped in newspaper the very same night...
and the people who own the house are vegitarians...???

Ugh I hate graveyards....If I am walking down the street and I come up to a graveyard I have to cross the street. The only graveyard I am not creeped out by is the one where my grandfather is burried in a little town in south eastern Manitoba called La Broquerie.

I saw a ghost once. I was in bed and couldnt sleep and it was 2:00am and i was listening to my cd player in bed and when i went to put my cd player on the desk beside my bed i saw a little girls face kinda figure that came up in a puff of smoke, and once i saw that i hid under my blanket that whole night and tried to fall asleep. I thought i was the only one who saw a ghost!

We lived in a really old plantation house a few years ago. Very huge open house. It was 9ish and I kept hearing something in the dining room so I went in there to see what it was. I flipped on the light, didnt see anything, then flipped it back off. As soon as the light clicked off i heard a voice beside my ear whisper "hello". I flipped the light back on thinking maybe my sister was f'ing with me, but no one was there. Needless to say after a few freaky instances happening, we moved out.
Never seen a ghost, but it's really hard to come up with an excuse for some of the stuff that happened.

When my grandmother passed away I was sleeping in the family farmhouse and all of a sudden in the middle of the night the dogs started to howl and acted just terrified. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary but it was just about the most chilling thing I ever experienced. Needless to say I didn't sleep much that night.

When I was little, maybe 5 or 6, my family lived in a townhouse in Windsor. We had a little dog named Monchue and he used to howl occasionally in the middle of the night for long periods of time. We used to keep it in a crate in the kitchen. It was terrifying.

Many times, when I was laying in bed with my eyes closed, I could feel something crawl on my bed. It would walk around on top of me. Not human size, small, like Guinea Pig size. Walking on two legs though. I would be so terrified that I couldn't open my eyes or move. I thought that if I pretended to be asleep and breathed shallow enough, it would leave me alone. I never saw anything because I would close my eyes really tight. I thought for sure that I was awake though.

Honestly, I now think that it was my imagination or something, maybe a nightmare. It was very realistic to me though and still scares me. I haven't thought about it in a very long time. Come to think of it, it could have been some kind of sleep disorder or something. At the time, I was doing allot of sleep walking. The only time ever in my life, while living in that house. I did it quite often. My parents often caught me trying to pee in the bath tub and closets and what not lol. I gues you never know what it was, it was very, very real to me then.

Ghosts no I have not but I have had many experances that can not be explained by the current scientific community.

2 examples although I could give more.

I woke up in the middle of the night once went and woke up my parents and told them that my grandmother had just died I was so conviced that they called my aunt who lived beside my grandmother in an apartment and had her check on her and she was really dead. at the time we were over 1000 miles from my grandmother and the death was unexpected.

I took a few counseling classes in college because I am one of those people that others seem to want to talk to and I wanted to actually be able to help. I am usually very good at reading people. But this one time in a coffee shop there was a person I was talking with about a problem he had and he was trying to explain something to me and I just wasn't getting it. Well any way he reaches over and touches my arm and BAM the hair on my back stands up and I can litterally "read his book" I mean I told him stories from his childhood and described how people in his life looked. It freeked me out some but it really scared him. He thought I was like psychic and stuff.

Remember you must believe first before you can see.

Neo, spasms are possible. You never know. Like I said, I was sleep walking all the time. I was sooo little that anything could have seemed real. Regardless, it was extremely terrifying. It hasn't ever happened before or since we lived in that house though. I guess I'll never know what was happening.

Actually, I have had spasms as an adult that make me jerk enough to wake me up. It wasn't like that. To me, it felt like small feet walking on me. I thought that I could feel some weight. Anyhow, you never know. Don't think I'm a weirdo or anything =).

I am sure ghosts exist. I have never seen one but I know people who have. Even if 95% of the sightings are false, there is something real about the other 5%.

Dani: Depending on where you felt the pressure of something walking on you it may have been Sleep Paralysis. It's a sleep disorder that occurs when the mechanisms in your brain that allow you to dream and the ones that keep us from moving while we sleep are active at the same time. Most people who suffer from it report feeling pressure on their chests as if someone is sitting on them. Auditory and visual hallucinations are also commonly reported.

Night Terrors is another sleep disorder that can cause similar symptoms as to what you described. People are often jolted awake by something frightening but then can't remember what, only that they're awake and scared. I'm told that it's a lot harder on the partner of the person with the night terrors as they often wake up screaming and crying for no apparent reason.

Never understood the fear of graveyards I mean really, you know for sure there all dead.... and think about it if you were a ghost (and no offence guys i do not believe) would you really wanna hang out in a dark gross cold graveyard or go somewhere really cool???
I had a friend tell me once that when a graveyard was made they would bury a young strong boy with a whip first that way when ever a soul tried to leave the graveyard he was there to herd them back.... now i dont believe this but i have checked out a few graveyards in my younger years out of curiosity of this superstition and the oldest grave there was always that od a young man.
go figure.......
Just my 2 cents worth :)

A month or two after katey's dad died my ring that I had lost and he had found (he had mentioned that he had found it to katey but never had a chance to give it to her or I) suddenly appeared on a counter in the workshop. it hadn't been there before and no one put it there.

I used to live in a house that was full of them, and they weren't the friendly type either. I was 4 years old and living in an old house on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. At night (and I was FULLY awake mind you) I'd hear growling and scratching in the walls beside my bed. The growls were neither human nor animal. My CATS even refused to go into the basement, they would growl and hiss everytime the even got to the top of the stairs. And whenever I did venture down there, it was colder than most basements are, and the smell of rotting meat plauged the air. That was one experience. I'd have multiple attacks on me physically to the point where I'd be covered in scratches and sometimes even bite marks.

When I was 7, my grandmother was dying of liver failure, and I went to visit her in the hospital. It was a very disturbing site for a girl my age as she was hooked up to machines and riddled with jaundice. At about 9PM or so that night, I started vomiting uncontrollably and was bawling, because I knew that she had passed away. The hairs on the back of my neck rose and I turned to see my grandmother standing in the doorway. My grandmother told me to tell my mother that everything was going to be all right. I found out later in life that she died that night around that hour. *shudder*

I've had several more experiences than that, but, I think I'll save that for when I want to write a novel on paranormal experiences. *L*

I have had way too many incidences to not believe...

In my room at night I hear stuff and see stuff... and no it's not my imagination. One night, I heard a crash and woke up and switched the light on to find a bunch of crap knocked over. I thought one of my snakes had gotten out, but checked all the cages and they were all there, safe and sound, and nothing was in my room :O.

And one time, I was talking on the phone with a friend of mine and my intercom beeped and it even wasn't plugged in or turned on!!! I heard it loud and clear and so did the person on the phone. We were both freaked out and I ended up throwing the stupid thing out of my room and it ended up falling down the stairs, haha.

Those are just 2 of several things that have happened to me... if you ask me, yes I believe in ghosts and yes I do believe in demons.

sometimes its conforting when visited My grandmother recently passed away and she was always telling us kids that she was keeping an eye on us so to speak when growing up(like keeping us from doing things weren't supposeto like sneaking ice cream etc.) Well anyways I know I've smelled her and felt her around when I go visit my Grandfather and I know I shouldn't be smelling her because he has all new furniture and new carpeting, and he was telling me how she has visits him sometimes, like he was in bed sleeping and he felt her crawl into bed with him could feel/hear the bed springs shift under the weight difference but my family has always "felt" things so I guess its just normal for us :)

Guess we could write a book! (From Jan)
I saw the Titantic movie in a theater after it was released. At the end of the movie I remembered my former life, and in front of my 2 girls, and a friend, I stood straight up and said "I remember the ship breaking in half!" I was on that ship, I remembered my name, how I jumped off the ship, being in the water...(I died)
I had this other person LIVING in my head for 3 days until by a freak meeting with a person I told my story to, somehow everything settled down.
"SOMEONE" is a reincarnated spitfire pilot, shot down after the Battle of Britain, he loves WW2 planes, and had alot of dreams about being shot down by a yellow nose ME-109. (Oh yeah, that one part of the movie Pearl Harbor REALLY freaked him out!)
We also live with a ghost! She died here before we moved in. We have had a picture flying off a hallway wall 3 times, The Doc has had a penny dropped on him in the shower, Chistmas ornaments thrown around the apartment...and falling in my lap from nowhere! The picture is no longer in the hallway, and things have settled down after 5 years. Lots of surprises and loud thumps, but she has never hurt anyone.
I have seen my share of ghosts, we both have seen UFO'S, but thats my story, and I'm sticking to it. (It's the wierd stuff that makes life interesting!)

Well, as you know I live in Chattanooga, TN. There is a graveyard that I pass on my way home from the interstate. This one pre-dates the Civil War and many Confederate Soldiers are buried there. So I am coming home about a year ago. Just up from this graveyard a middle aged woman was standing beside the road in what looked to be a ball gown. Now, the thing is, this neighborhood is completely and I mean COMPLETELY black these days, and this was a white lady. I knew she was way out of place to the point that I was looking for a place to turn around to go back and help her. Then I recalled the graveyard and started to think about the gown she was wearing. I then laid down on the gas and got my Z71 up to about 100 MPH and went home fast as I could. Ha-Ha. Unfortunately, I live in a 150 year old house, so I still didn’t feel too easy once I was home. Just this past Halloween the Chattanooga Talk Radio station was doing a segment on local ghost stories. This very graveyard is associated with a local legend of a women who was killed by her husband because he fell in love with someone else. There is a swamp just across the road from the graveyard and they say he pushed her in there and she died. Now she occasionally raises up. Not sure if it was her, but I am certain I saw a ghost or a badly made up white hooker that was being used in a prostitution sting.

I work in a vary haunted hotel and yes i have seen a few ghosts one of a little girl and one of a man dressed in a tail coat tux.
The most freaky experience that i have had was when i was opening up part of the hotel and i was walking towards the light switch and b4 i even had a chance to get near it the lights and fans turned on. One time around 5 am I was in the storage room grabing a few things and I heard some person calling me and not one person was around. It freaked me out soooo bad I all most cried. This one time I had to fold a lot of napkins and stored them in the boardroom and left them to go finish something else and when I came back they were gone. I asked my co-workers if they moved them and they all said no and the next day they showed back up in the exact spot where I had left them. On one or more occasions I could smell cigar smoke really strongly yet not one person was smoking in that area infact most of the hotel is non smoking! so strange. Once down in the gift shop books flew off the shelf and hit my co-worker in the back. The books hit her so hard that they left cut marks on her back! Needless to say we were so freaked out we ran out of the store a.s.a.p! It's not unusual to experiece these things and yes I do belive in ghosts.

Oh!
This one time when I was opening one of the lounges (the day after halloween) the room was ICE COLD and there was no reason for it because the heat was on and all the windows were shut! It was like I walked into a freezer and all the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I have never felt that b4 that strong since then.

When I will see one, I will believe it.
Same with ufo's. I do not deny the existence in fact, I think it is propable, but till I see one, I will not put my hand over fire to say I believe.

I do have a lot of paranormal experience since I was little kid. I used to afraid of them. When I grown up, I understand them more and not afraid anymore. Also they know who can see them and who cannot; its like a radio frequency, some people tuned and able to receive the signal.

They like human have different characters. I used to have one always like to play with me, he liked to hide my stuff all the time- e.g. I put my cell phone on the table, within a blink its gone. Then I call "Give me back the phone! I'm waiting for a call!" Within a short while, the phone reappears. This become like an everyday stuff, of course some freaky stuff is no good to talk about.

Right now, when my friends want to buy a house or move into a new place. They always ask me to go to see anything "special" about the place. May be this six sense is going to follow me into the grave.....

I used to live in an old house that used to be a hospital back in the 50s. it was really odd.. things changing location unexplained, babies crying in the closet.. creepy eyes in the shadows.. anyways, cant explain most of it.

Also, when my ex-stepfathers' father died, an old clock in the closet that hadn't been wound in years started ticking, and the alarm donged at 3pm, which was almost to the minute as to the time of his death.. it was also the third day of the month..

I've never seen anything. Even if something existed, I doubt I'd notice. I tend to think that people who say they see stuff are over imaginative, seeking attention, or just plain crazy.
I'm not entirely denying the POSSIBILITY of ghosts, I just have a hard time believing that if they DID exist, they follow people around and hide their cellphones. Wouldn't ghosts have better things to do and better places to go that peek at people through fog or shadows?

Most of the times its all in your head. We see the typical ghost shows on TV, where you see people on the sides of roads on foggy nights, people walkin' on dining room floor, etc. etc. Most of the times when you're in a position like that, you think of ghosts and your mind messes you up. I personally had an experience with a buddy of mine. We were told by his mom that this one house on this island near their cottage was haunted. We decided to go look one day so we took the canoe and went off. Surely enough, somethin' which looked pretty human to us, walked right by a window inside the house. We both saw it. Can't justify it bein' a ghost however. Personally, I'm a firm beleiver of dreams. I have a tendency to dream somethin' that'll happen within that week. Stupid stuff though, like walkin' by a particular person while I'm carryin' an umbrella for example. Kinda like deja vu :) I've been intrigued by the unexplained and have many other stories to tell, just no time to type them out ;)

Take care

Mike
