hey everyone, this pic shows what happens when snakes don't want their food! lol, these are rat pups that my 3.5 ft red-tail decided he didn't want. i left them in his cage after my 2.5 ft red-tail decided she didn't want to eat.

Could it be because they are lying in poo? Or where they regurged while not taking out the poo?
Just a thought.

Why post pics of dead rats? We've all seen them. What is your point here?

Is that pressure treated 2x4? If those rats are in fact regurged,
you may want to look at your temps-could be to high.
if not what Tim said

Did your snake take a crap on them? I've had that happen before...lol... guess he told me where to go! :p
On a sidenote, I would avoid offering food that has touched another snake or snake's enclosure (especially since it was refused) to another snake. You never know if a snake might be coming down with something and you do not want to transfer anything to another animal ;)

Yeah I think they were just being funny and stating that the snake took a dump on the food and told them where to go :) In which case, Hahaha

everyone ---> the rats weren't reguritated they came fresh out of the water. secondly they didn't even enter my smaller boa's cage as she didn't even take her mouse (i always give them a live mouse first because they stopped eating frozen on me.....don't worry, i stun the crap out of the mouse first, sometimes i stun it so much i kill it lol)
jenn ----> you got it right, sal was mad at me i guess cuz he wanted out but i didn't take him out, i just tossed the rats in.
p.s. everyone ----> none of my snakes have ever reguritated. so far anyways, i know it can and sometimes does happen to the best of us, i'm just saying so far the haven't.

What is this....sorry I missed the joke....why did you throw all of them in at once anyways
Ok, they put the f/t rats in the enclosure....In stead of eating them, the boa took a big dump on them........;)
Why were there 2 rats in the enclosure?

HI,
If I had to guess maybe your feeding alittle to frequently, many adult boa's are on a feeding schedual that allows for passage of poo before intraducing another food item.
My adult guyana like to feed about one week after they eliminate if I try and feed early they just ignore the food.
I have my two 7 ft 3 y/o Guyana feeding once a month..
If I try and rush them a week early they turn up their nose and go to the other side of the cage.
But if I allow the time off look out..

I don't see the problem with putting 2 in there.
If your snake is use to eating 2 or 3 at a time, he will stil eat them if you leave them on the newspaper.
It just happened that the snake dumped on the food.
I have cornsnakes, ball pythons and jcp's at the moment, and all of them eat all the time, before, after and while they deficate (well only one cornsnake will often defecate at the same time he eats).
