Now that one is nice. One of the reasons I like hondos for their red. If I wanted a black snake, I have many choices besides a muddy hondo.

Totally agree with Tim - what's the point if it isn't red (or orange)! Nice one Roy - while I really prefer the regular banded, the reduced black (spotted) is quite interesting.

I originally assumed that the narrow bands were eliminated by this pattern, but have seen some where the spotting is in tri-color animals and they are mostly cream colored, with black spots and a few remaining areas of red in very thin bands - looks as if the narrow bands expand rather than the wide ones. I would love to see it in the tri-colors that have the yellow/orange narrow bands. There is so much potential with honduran genetics.

I wasn't too impressed with that motley either, like you said, the reason I got into Hondos was the bright colors...

But could you imagine something like that as an albino...?

Thanks folks but to be honest I never liked the scrambled ones at all... Most went to the US where they are prized by some.
Steve Osborne was the guy to coin the term "vanishing pattern" Hondurans, but we both had the same strange snakes start appearing about the same time. He also got one of mine.
Both of us contribute that pattern mutation to line breeding (inbreeding.)
I was trying to produce wider and wider bands, but I wanted symmetry...
One generation too many pushed it over the edge and this snake and many more like it were produced. They were worth big bucks but I never really took a liking to them.

Honduran keepers have only scratched the surface with combination of pattern and mutations, a few more surprises on the horizon that will blow peoples minds, I've been sworn to secrecy.... hondurensis have gain in popularity in the past few years and so many more projects to cover...

What can be more rewarding then anticipating hatchlings from a multi genetic clutch, what will they look like???
