Here is how I connected a (dimmer) to a power bar for my stacked enclosures heat tape. I have 6 heat tapes connected...the only thing that I was concerned about was the rating of the powerbar...as long as the rating load is not exceeded then all is well.http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/1242reho-med.JPG I use this method for 3 stacks of 6...charlie...ps..totally illegal and I do not endorse..it is just how I do it

Why dont you do it this way http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8858 and jus plug your power bar into it. then it totally legal. or you could use a 3 switch box 1 rheo, 2 plugs(4 sockets) and the you dont even need a power bar

hehe well I guess it still wouldnt be legal as you are using heat tape:)

I think my way is better for my setup(easier,cheaper$18 and mobile)...by having the 2 outlets doesn't that make yours a powerbar anyways?

There is nothing "illegal" with doing your own wiring. You cannot be charged, fined, or penalized for it in any way save one - because you are not a CSA certified electrician, you void your home insurance if it catches fire.

Ya that's what I mean by illegal...insurance wise illegal....Lucky Luciano once said near the end of his life that he was in the wrong business all his life he said he should have been in insurance
