OK...I modified a pic to make it easier to understand.. ;)
remember, this is not my BP! I did it with paint so be gentle lol
It sounds like your python is getting ready to or has shed.
Just before a snake sheds his skin a lubricating fluid gathers between the eye and the protective scale that covers it that fluid is what causes the blue color. it is nothing to worry about just keep the humidity in the cage up or place a wet towel over the heat source in the cage the lens will come off on its own as long as enough humidity is present. What ever you do, DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE SCALE YOURSELF. a snake can be injured if the lens is removed to soon and scar tissue will build over the eye causing several months of blindness for the snake. your Humidity should be at 85% for shedding

and don't worry about him going off feeding, this is very common for balls and could last months on occassion. as long as the animal doesn't lose a lot of weight just offer at regular feeding intervals and one day he will just suddenly start eating again until the next hunger strike

he just eated a BIG rat 10 mins ago .. I cant still believe it :)..He finaly decided to choose rats over mice! He seems so much happier with his big belly lol ;).
his feeding routine since I have him:
1,5 feet: 1 jumbo mouse
2 feet: 1 jumbo or 2 depending
2,5 feet: 2 or 3 jumbo
3 feet (now): he was on 3 to 5 mice lol and now he took his first rat !!
