hey guys, need some info on shipping..
I never shipped anything out before.. I'm planning on shipping beardies from Toronto to New Brunswick.. What's the best way (safest and cost efficient) to do this?? Which shipping company should I use?? and how much would it cost?? Please reply a.s.a.p. Also how would I go about packaging the beardies up?? You can reply here, or reply to squan3@uwo.ca
thanks a lot

You should definatly go with Air Canada in a plane with a heated cargo area this time of year... You call air canada and arrange for a departure time, you should show up 2.5 before the plane is scheduled to leave from Toronto. Im not sure how you would go about packing beardies maybe someone else can elaborate on that. but the actual sgipping box that you will pack them into has to be cardboard and lined with styrofoam. Poke lots of holes in the shipping containers and the shipping box aswell and throw a few heat pack(s) in there aswell.

Note regarding shipping A/C.

I just had a deal go sour, when I was informed that they will not insure shipments at this time of year and consequently I was not prepared to put a guarantee on the animal, if Air Canada was not prepared to do the same. To those that harbour the idea that the animal is shipped in a nice warm cabin. Sorry to burst your bubble. The animals are shipped in the "heated" belly of the aircraft where the temperature gets to a whopping 2 degrees above freezing.

Not a risk, I am prepared to take. I am not sure about West Jet, but I believe that they are simply not shipping at all at this time. You could also try one of the private smaller flight companies and see if you can work something out.

There's my .02 for what its worth
