Just something that I had been thinking about...
For those of you with a fear of spiders, did you know the Dust Mite is an infestation in your own home? You sleep with literally millions of them every night! They survive by eating human skin flakes and we shed 50 million skin scales per day, so they have more than ample to eat - forever! Scientists have found 15 proteins in Dust Mite feces that cause allergic reactions in humans. 42,000 can inhibit one ounce of airborn particulate - that's the junk that floats in the air and gets pulled into your nose everytime you breathe! The scary part is... they have 8 legs and are a member of the arachnid family.
Intresting, isn't it?

Somehow, I think there would be uglier, more visible insects to worry about outside than inside... :D

There's another one to add. In your lifetime you will swallow around 7 spiders while you are sleeping. HEHE i probly swallow around 7 a year since i live in a basement.

Yup, I've read about that before, along with eating spiders in your sleep, I try very hard not to think about it. Thanks for reminding me. And man that second mite looks too well fed!!, Well, now I'm going to have to vaccum my bed and wash all the covers before bed tonight! THanks alot. lol

Spiders sometimes cause me to lie awake at night. Most recently, it has been trying to figure out the best way to increase the native spider population in my basement. I'm trying to think of good ways to unobtrusively introduce more supportive environments for them. But then, I'm insane. ;)
Cheers,
Dave
Well, there is a reason for them. What would we do if they weren't there to eat our sloughed off skin? We would be neck deep in our own shed skin? Just something to think about. There is a place for everything!
