hehe looks like mine :) Any idea what you plan on breeding him with...I want a leustic (sp) Texas Ratsnake, but not sure if the genes are shared that way.

Actually, I have a female leucisitic and we'd like to breed them in maybe a year or so (when they're "old enough")...I'm assuming leucism is just a simple recessive trait...in which case, unless he's het for it, we wouldn't get any leucistics from that breeding, only hets.

Is he nice. If he is captive bred he is probally nice. but if he is wild caught he is probally vicious as hell!

He's very nice, not even skittish. Certainly doesn't live up to the reputation.
My two leucistic texas rats (LTR's) are pretty good, in fact I take Salt, my good feeder out to do educational shows.
I bought my two boys in the states as 1.1, but ended up being 2.0 when I got back up to Canada, I was not impressed, been trying to buy a female. Wanted to get Paul's, which I believe you (rattekonigin) got, but felt that $150, was a bit much for me at the time. My two boys cost me $45 each. I hope to pick up 0.2 or possibly more in October at the next american show near by.
I was at Daytona this weekend and saw LTR's going for $35 to $50 with bug eyes going at $20, hets were like $25. Surely wish I got some, but I was with relatives who said no snakes!
LTR's are one of my favourite snakes. I had to wait over a year to finally get my two boys.
is that yellowis coloration normal? golly, it looks nice! though the rat i am after is a trans pecos baby. anyone out there know of anyone who breeds them in eastern canada, or canada anywhere?
