It had been two weeks since her last meal. She refused a meal a week ago and then afew days ago too. She had just shed and I guess she didn't want to eat. I went to my pet store today but they didn't have any rats. So I bought two mice. Fussy little thing wouldn't even look at the mice. So plan B was to go to another pet store to get a rat. The rat wasn't in her cage 10 seconds and she hammered it, she is still in the process of "killing" it. I'm just happy she decided to eat.

Have you tried her on F/T yet? There is a guy in Saint John that breeds rats and should have no problem selling you bags of them. Be a lot less hasle then running to two or three different pet stores all over Saint John.
Cheers,

I have had her eating F/T. When I find a store that has the right size I buy a few and freeze them.

You could also be saving money by buying them frozen in bags of 10. I've got a friend in Saint John who has an adult BCI and he hates having to buy rats at the pet stores around Saint John because he has to check them all before he finds Jumbos and then when he does the price is crazy. In my opinion food is the biggest challange we have when it comes to herping in NB.

Do you know where he buys the bags? I would do that in a second. I don't need jumbos yet, medium rats do the trick so far.

He breeds rats on a pretty large scale. Just go to the NB herp site and place a wanted add for rats and he should email you right away.
