found another garter!!

it happened again ...found her in my garage and is about the same size as the other one i found (13 inches)
while on pythons .com i found this "prevent-a-mite"
it is supposed to kill all snake mites and ticks.
if i spray this on the wild caught snake,
will this prevent having a captive bred snake get infected by the wild garter?

ps: they will both be in separate 10 gallon tanks

Well, anyone who knows me knows my stance on this..... I adamantly refuse to support the collection of wild caught snakes, so my advice is to please let it go.
However, I will answer your other question because I do not wish to see you kill it either.
The product "Provent-a-Mite" is an excellent product for killing snake mites (Ophionyssus natricis) however, you must follow the instructions on the can exactly.
If you plan on spraying the snake directly than you will have a dead garter within a few minutes. You are supposed to spray the enclosure substrate (a small, short spray) and allow it to dry in a well ventilated area.
However, again, save yourself the trouble and the high-cost of the spray and let the animal go, it's the right thing to do....
