I think you guys are right about the 30 being a bit small. I inherited/rescued a ball python 2 days ago that came with a 65 gallon mesh "Reptarium." According to my book about pythons and most of the stuff I've found on the internet, ball pythons only need a 20 gallon terrarium. This one in particular is small - only a little over 3 feet and 3 years old.

My question is, can I put my python in my 20 gallon tank, and put a divider in my 65 gallon for my 2 beardies? I would put them together but my male is a little too aggressive with her. Thanks for your input.

Sure can, but it's best to sterilize the Reptarium first. You can run it through the sanitize cycle on a dishwasher but then run an empty cycle afterwards so nobody in the family gets salmonella. Using the washing machine with vinegar and hydrogen peroxide is another option but it takes an hourlong soak to kill some pathogens that way. Bleach will damage the mesh and make it brittle.

I use Reptariums for rescue and hatchling beardies. They are kind of a hassle because you need so much more electricity to heat them even when you cover the sides with plastic or plexiglass, but they work well in the short term. You shouldn't feed crickets inside of them either as crickets can chew through the mesh. Get a small plastic box, like a shoebox or sweaterbox that you can use as a feeding station. That way you won't get escapees eating through the cage at night.
