I fed my 5-6 month old bp a large mouse on Monday (November 10), and had fed her a smaller mouse 5 days before that. THe large adult was easily her biggest meal to date. In hindsight, probably too big. Anyways, it's been 3 days, so I went to check her out tonight, and noticed that the area above the vent looks VERY full. Like, after the vent, her tail is about 3 times smaller. What further concerned me is that this swollen area is very soft. Am I worrying over nothing? Her last poop was about 8 days ago.
I have a previously scheduled vet appointment for her this Saturday, but would like to here about what this could be, if anything, before then. Thanks.

She's going to take a dump. Leave her be and by tomorrow or the next day you'll be cleaning a cage. Also the sooner you switch to rats the better.
Cheers,
Trevor

Heh yep she's going to poop soon, so I'd let her be unless you want her to go on you :p I just got my latest gal a couple of days ago and noticed her tail was swollen - within 2 hours of her arriving she had taken a big ol' poop inside her nice, clean new home.

Ok, well I just gave her a little soak (prior to reading your posts), just to get some of the leftover mouse crusties off her (it was a messy feeding last time), and she gave me a normal sized urate, and what looks like vegetable oil. What is this oily stuff? Are the mice I'm feeding her too fatty or something?

I plan I picking up some rats at the PCPC show on the 23rd. Hopefully I can get her eating those.

Yes they are fatty but that is the same normal liquid that always comes out but you get a different perspective when it is released in water.

Did I ever. Talk about a greasy mess! All over my hands AND the snake! That'll learn me!

Yuck! Sucks to be you daver. Guess I should count myself lucky that kind of thing hasn't happened to me (yet) I have to be careful handling Shriek right now, there is a load of processed rat ready to come out any time now.
