Does anyone know of any breeders with Indigo snakes? They are on my wish list for snakes and I want to start researching where to get them and prices and stuff...

thanks

Mark IsBell (gonesnakee on this board) works with Indigos. His are some of the best I've ever seen, even in pictures. For price, you're looking at $1000 each. No breeder will go any lower than that for single animals, but you might get a deal on a pair.

Hi there are very few people working with Eastern Indigos in Canada & even fewer that have been successful breeding them. Thx to my partner Kyle we were successful this year in producing some. To the best of my knowledge I have the only ones currently available in Canada. It is illegal to export them from the states (or import into also? not positive, just assumming) & they can only be obtained legally if they were produced & sold here in Canada. Pairs were $1,800 each & I sold some single males for $750. I have 5/12 babies left (plus 2 held by deposit) & may consider selling 2 more. I could have them sold but think I will hold off until the spring maybe. I have potential local buyers lined up for them anyway, but these people are requiring funds to do so. I could have buyers in Eastern Canada, but its too much risk/hassle to ship them at present time + with the recent sales of all my high end Boas I may just keep them all for a while. Feel free to email me with any questions etc. & check out http://www.easternindigo.com for more info on them. Mark I.

I've seen a few other indigos Mark, back in BC. I think a lot of people have them under ground.

Yes there is Vic Palmero out by Victoria (I have no contact with), thats where our stock orginally came from & there is also Pat Dring (didn't produce) out by Vancouver. Eastern Canada there is Dwight Sawer, Phil Blais, Paul MacLeary (future breeder) & Don Pouges to name a few. Out west there is also Annette Thompson (didn't produce) & I beleive Ryan & Sheila have some also for the future? If anyone knows of any for sale of any sex or age please let me know as I will most likely purchase them. Like I said to the best of my knowledge there are zero available in Canada. Most of the "undergrounders" probably smuggled them illegally from the States, but maybe not? I'd like to see some more thats for sure. Mark I.
P.S. I thought I'd mention that Pat also works with Cribos a close relative to the Indigo & they are more affordable around $200. I beleive he still has some currently available as well.

In case anyone cares the Indigos were placed together for breeding last night for the first time this season. She was extremely willing & had him scared with her enthusiasm at first. Things changed overnight though because Kyle observed them going at it hot'n'heavy this morning WOO HOO! Fingers are crossed again in hopes she will become gravid for her 2nd year running (touch wood, LOL) Mark I.
