Couple photos of our two pick jungle corns (bred by Lisa and Greg Sheppard - Edmonton) as they mature a bit more. We choose them for intensity of yellow banding and depth of color in the saddles. They both show a good mix of kingsnake type in head shape and body shape with the intense coloration of the corn. The parents were both jungle corns (cornsnake X cal king hybrids) and produced a very diverse clutch including some that were white with white bands but we could only get two.

These are the first jungle corns I have rasied and though we had their father and he was very kingsnake like (crazy), both these hatchlings are more mellow than many of our corns.

I love the male, he's absolutely beautiful. ;) I'm a real sucker for natural colours. (even though his colours are almost unreal)

How much did you get them for? Very nice!

Nice snakes, the first one looks like a king but the second looks more like a corn.

Thanks all for the kind comments - I really like how these two are turning out.

Tammy - I got these two as stud fee payment because I owned the sire of the clutch. I believe the rest of the clutch were sold at between $150-200 each depending on color. There seems to be quite a market for them here.

Awesome!! I love the normal.
We produced our jungles from a very pale whitish caliking and many of her babies came out grey. We hope to try with another pair and see what colours pop out of that.

Again, WOW on that normal one!!!

So when you breed jungles, is the male the corn and the female the king?

I have to admit I prefer the male's color too - his yellow is so bright and the saddles are a nice rich color. His name is Sting because he looked like a little bee when I got him.

Tammy - both parents of this clutch were actually jungle corns (mom was normal het albino and dad was an albino). They both had great temperaments and no indication that either would be a meal - in fact they were caged together for a couple days for breeding. I have heard of people using male corn or male king - someone the other day mentioned a potential problem with a female corn having a higher risk of egg binding with king sized eggs and that seems reasonable. Certainly if the king is the larger of the pair there would be a real risk of cannibalism. I have no experience in creating hybrids directly from corn and king, but maybe Katt will respond as I believe they have done direct crosses,

Yup, Mark IsBell and I have both done king to corn crosses.

What we did was use a male corn to a female king, although, the reverse has been done by others. We did it the way we did, b/c male corns are more eager breeders, and we reduce the risk of too large an egg in a corn body.

I can post a more detailed account of the breeding if people are interested.

There's a market for these guys?? I still have two that are looking for homes, but no biters. I have kept three 2.1 for myself already. I really want one like the one above, (the normal) fantastic colour. I also want those striped and flame jungles ooooooooooooo.

Katt-- how much do you want for the jungles you have. They are both males right?

Katt: I tried to send you a PM, but your box was full. And as for weather's question, how much ARE you charging for them? I'd like to know, too. The male is absolutely beautiful. With some select breeding, hopefully someone might be able to have animals like him, only with nice even saddles. He's lovely.
