I just purchased this beauty; can't wait to get her. She is a Japanese Forest Ratsnake (Elaphe conspicillata).

Nice! I've never seen one of those before. The asian colubrids are my favorite. Give us some background on this species, if you don't mind.
Hey! Ron.
That's a nice one for sure! Wish it will do good for you! (It is hard to get)
Thanks everyone,
Since I got Mandarins I've developed a new appreciation for Asian Colubrids. Can't wait to get more.
Beardonicus, I don't know much about them but here is a link to where I first saw them:http://www.ratsnakes.com/Econspicillata.html (www.ratsnakes.com/Econspicillata.html)
Simon, I have a friend in Asia looking for a bunch of stuff there and prices will be finalized once he finds as much of my wishlist he can.

It's amazing how the rat snake genus has such variety in colour and pattern. Love the close-ups!

Nice Ron, I don't remember ever reading about those. Asian ratsnakes are very cool!
Is your friend from Asia the same person as our friend from Asia?

Holy, she looks awesome. Nice acquisition there, Ron :D
Mark,
I'm not sure but I would assume WC but I don't really care as long as she eats. She looks good and healthy but who knows, its a chance I am willing to take for the price I am paying.
Ryan,
Nope different friend. I mentioned my new interest in Asian Rats to an old friend and lookie what he found for me. I kinda stumbled across the species and thought hey they look cool, I should get some. Not as cool as your Blackhead but it will do till bonus time.
Very nice snake, Wicked colours.

Thanks Mark,
Maybe if I had more than one, but these are just as bad if not worse for shyness than Mandarins.

Congrats man, I love asian rats. I hope to get a pair at the IHS show in Florida next yr. Mind saying who you got them from ?
Im very jealous, thats an amazing looking snake, congrats bud!
Vanan right's JEALOUSY BIG TIME!
Those guys are very mandarin like, which aren't my favourite group of asians, but still a DARN NICE LOOKING SNAKE!!
I'd love to get a ton of asian rats, but so many are WC and I'm just not willing to work with WC asians, far too tricky to get started and thriving much less breeding. A ton of good luck with you. Please please bring in all that you can a nd start breeding these snakes!!
I won't say I love asian rats, b/c it goes beyond that.

hmmmm never heard of that species
One,
They are fairly rare and probably the same price as coxi.
Scott Wahlberg,
Just a friend with similar interests.
Katt,
I'm hoping to get a trio in but I will have to wait to see how many my friend can find. You're more of a Beauty snake person, right? Did you see the Albino Elaphe taeniura mocquardi posted on KS? It is awesome, I would love to get one of those.
