I know that you guys hate these kinds of questions, but I'm trying to figure out what kind of lizard would do best in this tank that is 2 feet wide by 3 feet long by 1 foot tall that I have.

I am considering leopard geckos (probably too much space), beardies (not enough space), or ackies (waaay out of my price range).

I would really love to have any of these three species, but I am not planning to get them for a few months, so I am doing my planning now. Any opinions on these or other suggestions?

I am looking for something more personable than not.

actually a 1.3 or even 1.4 group of leos would fit perfectly in there.

Bonus: they are naturally toilet trained.

If it was just a little bit taller, a beardie would be great (most personable out of your list). You "could" get away with a beardie. Your tank is equal to about 44-45 US gallons. The only part the beardie wouldn't like too much is the height. BUT....if you are dedicated to him, taking him out for some exercise at least 3-4 times a week, it would be fine :) You would have the added bonus of not having much worry on the UV light distance either ( UV lights lose effectiveness after 8-10" away....the closer to the animal the better).

or

A nice group of leo's would be great too.

Thanks! I don't know much about skinks or uros, so I'm going to have to do some more reading. I'm trying to determine which will be what I'm looking for. Aside from not being extremely difficult to take care of, I want a lizard that I can take out and handle while I read a book or something. Not something too skiddish, or grumpy. I have a few months, and I do appreciate your input!
