Anything with a floor space of 36"Lx18"Wx18"H would make a nice size terrarium. Personally I use rubbermaids but I don't think that's what you're looking for if you're using the word "terrarium".

well right now my baby is in a 10 gal tank. But when she gets to almost full size she will get a 40 gal breeder tank......

My snow is so spoiled. He has a 55 gal aquarium, complete with fake vines suction cupped to the sides to climb on. He actually got the tank by default when he was a few months old. I had had two iguanas and the smaller one was residing in the 55. Due to temp falling beyond our control, our two iguanas died. So Whodini, having lived through the ordeal, was rewarded with the large tank.

IMHO the best substrate would be paper towel or aspen. A good temp range would be cool side room temp, hot side 83-85 or so.

Best substrate - Aspen if you want to go for look. Corns do not require humidity, so Aspen looks god, and is practical. If you're going strictly for practical, and cost is more important, paper towels all the way.

My adult corns are also getting spoiled, as I am building them 4x2x2 terrariums. The best thing about corns is that they WILL use the space you give them - they will climb, they will do laps around the terrarium, they will even bury. They appreciate whatever you give them. :) Only thing to worry about is making their terrarium too small. They are active, and have to be able to move around.

Well we use care fresh for now with our corn. But we are going to be trying aspen shavings when we use up our care fresh.

astro turf?

Yuck. I don't personally like the idea of astro turf. It will fray which means loose threads that can be a danger. And I can't imagine how you can get them clean without a reasonable amount of scrubbing and some sort of disinfectant which after time would make it fray more and more.

Just seems like a waste of time to me.

Not all astroturf frays. I bought some stuff from home depot that is 100% polypropelene, and it doesn't fray at all. I even put it through the washing machine, and no fraying happened. You're buying the cheap stuff if it's fraying. :)

However, for creatures that have such runny poop, I wouldn't recommend it. I use it for boas, but they have pretty solid poop.
