The one time I did have one my male used it a lot. My female is always perched and he is often on the floor. I say add one and let the snake decide whether or not he/she wants to use it or not.

Well he seems to hide behing his water dish frequenttly so I will add one............thanks!!!

hey don't know if this helps or not just an idea you could make a hide on the side wall with a perch in it or even just throw some plants in front of the perch for some extreme camoflage. Hope it helps and hope ya like the idea. Later Dayz.

Yes!!! Unlike their other aboreal bretheren, ATBs are not 100% arboreal....they will spend as much as 80% of their time on the ground or in a hide. Mine stay in thier hide(s) on the ground all day then come out and cruises around the branches at night.
