Anybody else here like it? I've always loved the movies, then I read an article (more of an essay) about it and now I'm completely obsessed. There are so many tie-ins between all the characters and events and things. There are also theories of major conections between the movies and Christianity... but I won't go into detail about that (lol.... just kidding.... trying to lighten things up). Anyway, anybody else like the movies? If I can find it, I'll post the link to that essay.

The first one didn't do too much for me, the second one was awesome, and I was supposed to see the third one tonight but we couldn't get to the early show on time and Mike has to work in the morning :(

My opinion on the trilogy...

The first one was pretty cool. I figured it would be another "Jonny Nemonic" so I waited until it came out on video. :) I liked it a lot though.

The second one was cool too but too much of the same thing.... Slow motion wire fights and deep questions...

The third one was like a big dose of deja vu. A movie I had seen twice already with the same conversations and events/fight scenes between the same characters in exactly the same style. I was a bit disappointed. I just kept thinking "I know where this is going, so hurry up and get there..." Still a cool flick though. :)

There ya go.

In my oppinion, they're the best movies ever made. Especially if you take out the 3rd movie and pretend like it's just not out yet lol. The 3rd was such a let down... I wanted so many answers and they just didn't give them. But yeah, best movies ever... read the article, you'll understand why.

Krokadylian, yeah but the twins pissed me off. They fought so cheap and I was glad to see them "die"

OH, sorry about posting so much but.... I know it's long and I know it focuses on how he thinks it's basically a story about the book of Genesis... but just stick with it and you'll notice it's not all preachy and that the length won't matter because it'll drag you in (assuming you're interested in the movies)

I think the twins died on the bridge on the highway. Morpheus took out his sword and sliced the SUV and then it turned over and blew up. This is seconds after Trinity and that little asian dude jumped off on the bike.

Yeah... but they turned into their ghost form and were blown away... so it didn't exactly seem like they died. But I think they did.

That was a great part though... Morpheus owned that scene.

i JUST got home from seeing the third.. it was pretty good in my opinion. expected a little more, but still, im not one to complain..

and that club scene where they go talk to the frenchman... *wipes drool off keyboard*.. something about girls in vinyl and leather and guns. lol..

only major thing i didn't really like was all the superman flying and stuff..

Definetly not the best trilogy out there, but i think all three were amazing flicks.

I feel that if you do crack open a bible and do a over view of the christan Faith you will see alot of similare reprasentations and I mean from the first movie all the way till the end of the third but then again Star wars does the same.
I took the whole trilogy on a verry deep level I love the way they took the Dragon Ball Z fighting style and put it on the big screen.

I wont go in to deep explanation of the way I portrayd the trilogy
cause it just came out and I do not want to ruin the end for ppl.

But I will say that if pay close attention to the end of the
re-loaded when neo is talking to the contractor of the Matrix and then incorperat that last convo wit the last sceens of revolutions you will get all the answers you need to understand all 3 story lines.

The first one is one of my all time favs, but the second one was disappointing. This may sound shallow, but I wanted to see more guns...

The first had ground breaking techniques in film photography.
The second had to live up to the first. I've yet to see the 3rd and can't wait to see it.

Dom, he's just gonna update that essay. So you already have the link.

Daver, it doesn't sound shallow to me at all.... I wanted more guns too.

I think they got progressivley "worse" though they were all good.

But yeah, Star Wars was really good too but I just like these movies better. I think they have more hidden things to find out and stuff like that. Reminds me of The Usual Suspects (another great one)

I have seen the 2 first and I prefer the first movie of matrix than second because it is more amazing. But in fact I like the story of matrix

Neo

yeah i too have been in a lot of religious discussion about the matrix it's amazing how many parallels and symbols there are that can be interpreted. just knowing the history behind every name (like nebuchanezzar or morpheus, etc) gives u another perspective on the movies which i've seen like a trillion times :D the third was was a disappointment but the scenes near the end were spectacular!

Seen all 3 and loved them all...the 3rd(revolutions) is the best ...I think...although the first had a lot of cool ideas, a breakthrough in film genre

I thought the story and effects were great in the first one. The seconds story wasn't as good IMO but the effects were awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the third this weekend.

I loved all three. Definitely one of my favorite trilogies of all time. Although, I thought they could have explained the ending much better in Revolutions. You are left to yourself to figure if Neo died or not. I personally loved the dock scene and dragon ball z fighting style as mentioned before.

Derrick

Yes Neo died. He had to die for agent smith to die. As the oracal told him. Smith was his negative his oppsite. once neo died to balance things had to be balanced therefore no smith.

The movie rocked. If your looking for the back story to the whole matrix situation check out http://www.intothematrix.com/ Watch the episodes 1 and 4. I have the DVD its great. There is one episode about that kid who opens the gate and how he got out.

J-Man
11-08-03, 11:26 PM
Yeah... a couple other hints that he died are:

1. He told Morpheus/Trinity that he didn't think he was coming back.

2. At the end, there's an inscription on the bench that (BLANK) is sitting on that says "In Memory of Thomas Anderson." Or something like that.

Derrick, I'll definitely check that out. And when you talk about the episodes and the DVD, are you talking about the Animatrix? My brother has that DVD, I've got to watch it sometime soon.
