while I was handling my retic last night I noticed a very faint poping sound. I spoke with the breeder and he said it sounds like congestion but since he is eating he should be fine. He also stated I need more humidity for his cage as I was only misting once every other day.

I plan on misting the cage everyday now as well. Should I mist 2x a day? Also when misting he is usually under his hide. Should I move his hide and mist him as well?

Will a towel over a corkboard top do ok for keeping the humidity in?

and should I use a humidity box or will the cypress do fine by misting more often?

Also, and sorry, should I feed him as normal, 3-4 lrg mice on saturday or wait til this clears up?

sorry if it's a long post and your help will certainly be appreciated

I don't know what breeder you got the snake from, but congestion usually means RI(respiratory infection) Misting and raising humidity is not good. you should raise the temps in the whole cage to a couple of degrees warmer than the hot side, and remove large water bowls, replaceing them with one small bowl do drink from. I'm guessing RI, because that's what it sounds like. A trip to the vet should be made asap.

also, why feed 3-4 large mice when 1 large rat would do the trick??

I bought the snake from Bob Clark.com.

I feed the snake mice right now because I have abotu a dozen f/t that im trying to get rid of.
