My emerald has been trying to shed for hours now and is having a lot of trouble.

Is there any stress-free way I can help her out?

I know of countless other ways to deal with this in other snakes, but obviously she's a bit more delicate and easy-to-stress than the others.

Thank you. :(

If you have already tried heavy misting then I have found that the only way is to put them in a rubbermaid with moist bath towels on the bottom and over the snake. I find this to be less stressful then soaking. You can keep adding warm water over the towels. Hopefully the snake will work the shed off after it has softened, but be prepared to assist. Also a closely monitored heat pad underneath the rubbermaid helps. Only you know the temperment of your emerald and will have to determine when enough is enough if you have to assist. Assisting with a bad shed is about the only time I have ever been bitten.

I use the same method Craig C just described and it works wonders for me.
Good luck,

If you have a REALLY hard time getting the skin off, Vitamin-E oil worls well is softening the skin and making it easier to remove.

Thank you!! I mist her constantly even when she isn't shedding and the past few days (even though she started shedding yesterday) I've been going into the snake room misting her least 5 times more often.... She hasn't done this to me before so I was really worried.
