As always, the majority of us are trying to save money while supporting our ummm "addictions".
Post your tips, etc. here for enclosure decor, shortcuts, etc.
- dollar store vines, plants, etc work great in terrariums.

Well my favourite way to make a hide is by getting a terracota (sp?) pot from Walmart or someplace, bashing a hole in the side and sanding it down. The material keeps it nice and warm in the hide :)

Don't buy your substrate from the petstore, If you use sand, check out sterilized play sand from Home Depot or pretty much any DIY type store... Check plant nurserys for bark mulch or peat...

getting those river stones or glass pieces from a hobby store with a bit of silicone allows you to custom build hides or add glass pieces(like a window for light in terra-cotta or wooden hides). PVC pipe and elbows can be cut long way and siliconed to aquarium sides to create burrow structures. Local vineyards are great for grape vines after harvest.

I usually check the local parks for any big branches that are lieing around, as long as u take proper precaution before putting them in the tank they work great, cause i can never find big enough branches for my monkey-tails in a pet store.

Shavings (as well as some other substrates), alcohol, peroxide, syringes, needles, wormer, etc. can all be purchased at the co-op for good prices.
Branches, rocks, and other decor can be found outside.
Substrates, pots, plants, etc. can be found in garden centres.
All sorts of goodies can be found at Wal Mart such as rubbermaids, dog food (for rodents), much of the above mentioned, etc.
Free newspaper from the neighbours :)

Cat litter pans make great water containers for larger snakes. I also have a big terracotta pot for my Boa constrictor. I have one of those small *U* shaped pieces of wood propped up against it. It's very snug and she likes it.
I bought river stones from the craft store for about $2 a bag. They look nice scattered around water bowls.

I just started making my own caves for my lizards. A log cabin to be precise. I took some sticks (free from park), sterilized em, and cut into 6" lengths. They are approx. 1" thick. With a hot glue gun, glued em together to form a half circle....a cave. I really like how it looks. :) If anyone wants a pic, let me know.
I'm building bigger ones :) This one was just a starter.
