custom glass tank?

i was curios, do home depot sell glass at sizes i want and will they cut it for me?

if so, how much would it cost, i would want to build my own custom made glass tank, thanks.

Home depot has set sizes. They will not cut the glass for you. You are better off getting it from a small glass shop.

how do i paste glass together? silicon?

I would use aquarium sealant, let it dry for 24 hours at least. And if you could, make a frame for the top. That will ensure that the glass will not separate.

Why make one? a used tank is cheeper and better usually.

i want to make a cutom glass enclosure for an arboreal snake, maybe an etb or gtp.

i want it all glass, and have and opening door for it, if anyone knows a site pls post it

How about plexi? Acrylic and Polycarbonate enclosures are becoming quite popular for arboreals. You can get acrylic at home depot, though they will not cut it for you. You can get both materials for much cheaper at a plastics manufacturer and they will do any precuts you need.

I like melamine aswell, Im currently building an enclosure, 4'x2'x2' and will be using plexi for the front. The Home Depot I goto, for some reason, wont cut melamine.

I would also suggest plexi, instead of glass. If you have a Lowes nearby, I believe they will cut it for you. If your set on glass though your best bet would probably be looking in the phone book.

i make melimine tanks all the time, i hate when it breaks up after a while because of too much himidity.

Melamine shouldn't break up at all, no matter how much humiditiy.

My iguanas old cage was entirely melamine and was sealed at every edge using aquarium sealant. no leaks or breaking.

I recently bought a couple of melamine cages off a buddy of mine that previously housed adult blood pythons at 100% humidity for several years. There is nothing at all wrong with the cages, and they are holding up quite well.

Properly built melamine should last a long time. now I can see why you would want an all glass cage of some sort, so that you can see them from all directions.
