View Full Version : Brachypelma spp.
OK, it is time for you to post pics of your Brachypelma spp. I will start de bal with a few of my own specimens...
First the all time classic, B. smithi...
And a close up of the same female...
The underated one... the gorgeous B. albopilosum...
Another unpopular species... B. emilia, I do not understand why, it is a truly gorgeous animal...

Here's my red knee!! She's my only brachypelma at the moment. Hopefully, I will soon have a little brachypelma vagans in my collection along with a B. Boehmei though... ;)

A less common species... B. klaasi...
It is hard to capture the nice coloration of this one... nice pinkish color...
One of my all time favourite, the very colourful B. boehmei...
Nice Emily, you are quite lucky to have a specimen of B. smithi... they are not cheap animals normally...
I remember when I was a kid and I used to drool over the B. smithi... I remember seeing them for sale at about 15$ including terrarium!LOL Things have certainly changed...

nice pictures i only have a B smithi
Nice! I like the B. auratums too. Not too gaudy but then again, gaudy is nice too! :D
Yep, they are a nice spider indeed, not too common as a big female too, although you can find slings around...
although you can find slings around...
Is that a hint about your pricelist now? ;)
No no, LOL I just mentioned it before someone mis-quoted me about saying it is a rare animal... rarity is a very relative term...
But if you want to have a look at my list, be my guest!LOL

rare? guess they're harder to find farther north of the border, its practically all we see in southern AZ! nice pics though, really gorgeous! good luck with the babies...
Brandi, pretty much could be considered rare up here as far as Ts go... another thing that is to be remembered that Brachypelma spp. are CITES protected, so you need special permits to get them in... that unfortunatly does not discourage some people to smuggle them in, you have to watch out from whom you get your animals... some people could really be surprised sometimes...
they are all so beautiful....like a bouquet of flowers!:)
Tarcan~ thanks for the heads up man! did not know they were are CITES spp. notl ike the importers care anyway. but walk into a petstore in Arizona and you can bet money all you will see is pink toes and red knees. I don't keep T's myself, so never really gave it much thought. But i camp out in the desert all summer, and last year had a family (i female, 2 males) of little blondies (i think) living under my tent. cute little buggers... i moved out so as not to squish the little guys.

That's damn cooool!! Would love to see any T out in the wild in its element. There were some cool pics of when these guys found a new poke species in Sri Lanka. Imagine to walk up to a tree, look down a hole and see tarantula legs sticking out of it! Can you tell I'm missing my childhood when I used to catch spiders in my backyard in Singapore!
